Gremi

The Gremi are the ancient guilds of Arts and Works that was born in Sassari during the Middle Ages, in way analogous to how much it happened in other Communes of Italy. They are certificates in the history of Sassari the followings it Filled: Agriculturists, who works the vegetable garden; Tailors and Shoemakers; Blacksmiths; Furrier, Cobblers and Miniaturists of skins, Cavallanti (or Wayfarers); Carpenters, Masons, Saddlers and I was Enough; Butchers, Furriers, Limed, Acquaioli, Laborers , Stonemason, Corradori, Painters. Some of them were considered “manni” because more ancient, the other ones were defined smaller. The components of the Gremio cover some precise positions set on different hierarchical levels.
The Most greater Obriere is the head and representative of the Gremio. He has the charge to organize the party patronale and to bring the standard in all the processions and the demonstrations officials.
The Obriere of Chandelier deals more properly him with to organize the descent of his/her own Chandelier; during the procession it unthreads co her "small " flag of the Gremio.
The Obriere of chapel takes care of the Chandelier during the whole year.
The chosen or Increase I am them those that have covered in passed the position of the Great Obriere.
The investiture of the new Great Obriere ends every year on the occasion of the party patronale of the Gremio, at the end of the Mass (to exception of the Massais, that receives the standard during the party Middle August).

  MASSAI
The Gremio of the Massai was in the past the class of the land owners, that is the more eminent social group. Still their Gremio is considered the more main point and it reflects the prestige and the power economic that the workers of the earth had in the Sassari of the past.

The Cobblers (li Cazzuraggi) they constitute one of the most ancient Guilds. The first documents in which the sapateroses are quoted (in Catalan language) they go up again to 1504; we know that they makes part of the unthread since 1531.

  HORTICULTURISTS
The horticulturists had, in the past, an important place in the economic life of the city.
